Henry and Jemima, maiden name unknown, Turner were in North and South Carolina till around 1800 when they arrived in Barren/Warren County, Kentucky. Unknown how many children descend from these parents, but five are identified; Susannah married Robert J. Taber; Nancy married Richard Brown; John B. is noted below; Sam; and Phoebe Ann married John Andrew Sisco.

John B. Turner was born in 1786 in North Carolina. He married Isabell Bishop on September 6, 1805 in Barren County, Kentucky. The parents of Isabell have not been identified. John and Isabell had nine children born in Kentucky and Tennessee; Phoebe Elizabeth married Robert Hodges; Henry B. is noted below; Delana married John Hufstedler; Permillia married Spencer Horner; John; Joseph Thrasher married Rhoda, maiden name unknown; Susan A.. married Edwin Marsh and William Luttrell; Elias T. married Sarah Durning; and William R. married Nancy, maiden name unknown.

Isabell died about 1825 and John B. married Elizabeth Miriam "Betsie" Russell. Betsie was born in Tennessee in 1805, a daughter of Lewis and Esther Horner Russell of North Carolina. John B. and Betsie had four daughters; Mahulda married Samuel Russell Shepard; Melinda married John P. Humphries and John R. McIlroy; Mary Ann married John G. A. Bates; and Martha J. married Thomas M. Brashears.

Of these thirteen children, ten were in Arkansas by 1855, the first, Henry B. arriving in Crawford County in 1830.

Henry B. Turner was born in Maury County, Tennessee in 1808, and married Mary "Polly" Russell about 1825 in Perry County, Tennessee. Polly is a daughter of Lewis and Esther Horner Russell of North Carolina, a sister of Elizabeth Miriam "Betsie" Russell, second wife of John B. Turner.

Henry and Polly had seven sons; John R. married Naoma Russell; Elias D. is noted below; George Washington married Sarah Caroline Anderson; William C. married Sarah Ann Owens; Lewis J. married Serena Caroline Kelly; Henry Horner married Serena Webb; and Andrew J.

Henry arrived in Crawford County, Arkansas in 1830. That area of Crawford County became Franklin County in 1835. He and his family were in Peter's Colony, Fannin County, Texas, by 1844 and he died in Texas 1846. Polly returned to Franklin County with the boys by 1850 and farmed on the Mulberry River.

Elias D. and Mariah Huggins Turner

Elias D. Turner was born in Perry County, Tennessee on January 24, 1830, and married Vienna Stamps, probably in Franklin County, Arkansas about 1850. Vienna was born in 1830 in Missouri and died in Franklin County, Arkansas before 1853. She and Elias D. had a daughter, Mary Ann who married James S. Scott on December 1, 1872 in Franklin County.

After Vianna died, Elias D. married Mariah Huggins on January 23, 1853in Franklin County. Mariah was born February 20, 1829 in Fayette County, Tennessee, a daughter of John B. and Sarah D. Farris Huggins of North and South Carolina. They had nine children, all born in Franklin County; John Christopher married Sarah Carr; George Eli is noted below; Jennette F. married William "Buck" Weaver; Sarah J. married J. Wesley "Wes" Whitson; Herbert W. died a boy; Eliza J. married Dr. Enoch Randall Weaver; Parthenia S. married George Rose; Wallace A. married Francis I. "Della" Carr; and Richard P. married Alice Nichols.

George Eli and Nancy Catherin Moore Turner

George Eli Turner was born march 24, 1856 at White Oak, Franklin County, Arkansas. On November 19, 1876 he married Nancy Catherin Moore. Catherin was born November 13, 1855 in Texas or Arkansas, a daughter of William Thomas and Nancy Jane Stockton Moore of Tennessee.

Eli and Catherin had nine children; Edith Anolia married Emmett Gus Rowe; Robert Olin is noted below; Elsie Maye married William Doyle Hughes; Ethel Ozella married John E'Restus McKinney; Edna Viola married Luther "Arch" Cummings; Effie Dell married Millard McCarroll Lowther; Ola Maude married Drew Delta Davis; Odas Randall married Ova Rust Hunsaker; and John O'Restus married Roxie Olive Earnest.

Eli and Nancy were on their way to Texas in 1888 when Eli became ill in Polk County, Arkansas. After Eli's recovery, the family remained in Polk County.

 

Family of Olin and Drucilla White Turner

Robert Olin Turner was born February 11, 1879 at White Oak, Franklin County, Arkansas. On December 25, 1900 he married Martha Drucilla White in Polk County, Arkansas. Drucilla was born June 9, 1877 in Polk County, a daughter of Serril "Pete" and Matilan Bickle White of Tennessee.

Olin and Druce had four children, all born at Potter, Polk County, Arkansas; Hulbert Olin married Stella Lowther; Hubert Aden married Dora Ruby Smith; Hoyt Eli is noted below; Edith Drucilla married Henry Thurman Davis and Cleo Robert Armstrong.

Family of Hoyt and Helena Turner – 1944

Hoyt Eli Turner was born December 21, 1905 and married Helena Elizabeth McGinnis at Mena, Polk County, Arkansas on December 31, 1933. Helena was born February 8, 1916 at Cherry Hill, Polk County, a daughter of Robert Marion and Addie Faye O'Reilly McGinnis of Arkansas and Texas. They had two children; Everett Hoyt is noted below; and LaQuita Joy married Frank R. Siqueiros.

Everett Hoyt Turner was born March 7, 1935 in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas. On September 29, 1956 he married Sharon Allatt Smith in Tucson, Pima County. Sharon, a twin, was born October 1, 1939 at San Diego, San Diego County, California, a daughter of Charles Roberts and Bettina Benton Smith of California. Everett and Sharon had four children; Lincoln Hoyt married Sharon Woods; Stuart Lance married Dr. Michelle Grad; Layne Benton married Kristine Hartung; and LaChelle Drucilla married Christopher Leyva.

Everett and Sharon were divorced in 1969 and he married Marilyn Teresa Keinrath Parlee on July 26, 1973 at Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia. Marilyn was born September 30, 1943 at New London, New London County, Connecticut, a daughter of Frank and Marilyn Robison Keinrath of Missouri and New York. Marilyn brought three daughters to the marriage; Tracy Lynn; Teresa Michelle married Kirk Hyde; and Robyn married Jerrald Bruce Alsip.
