ANY early black and white photos of
this family will be processed free of charge, and digitally enhanced copies
provided. Those of you who would like your family photos included on the family
pages, forward same to me at e-mail. Any family members who would like
copies, in tiff or jpg format, of any of the photos shown on the pages, let me
know.
Old cracked, faded and, torn black and
white photos can be repaired to near original, and in some cases better than
original, condition.
Early photographic developers and chemicals
often yellow with time and cause separations in the photo, such as cracks,
spider webs, and flaking. Most if not all of these blemishes can be repaired
thanks to digital enhancement with Adobe Photo Shop 5.0. Even Tintypes can be
enhanced and brought to life.
Even if the photo is torn in half or
pieces, as long as all the pieces are available, and in some cases when pieces
are lost, the photo can be enhanced and repaired. Some additional charges
incur.
Photos need not be removed from the
home or even albums. Simply scan the photo with any digital scanner and save as
a tiff, jpg format, or other commonly recognized image file format, and forward
via e-mail.
If you don't have a scanner, most
office supply shops, photography shops, or print shops will scan the image for
you while you wait, for a modest fee. Photocopies sometime contain enough
detail for enhancement but I would have to examined each to determine if enough
detail is present.
Photos should be scanned in black and
white at 300 dpi, 5X7 inches. This produces enough detail for enhancement and
enlargement. Color photos can be reduced to black and white and scanned at same
resolution and size.
Once the photo is captured as a file,
simply forward via e-mail and an assessment and price estimate will be
provided. No photos are enhanced till you agree to the price and expected
results. Prices range from $10 to $25 plus shipping, unless the photo is in
very bad condition, or as noted above with particular requirements.
Once the photo is enhanced, it can be
stored on disk for use as you see fit. Photos will be returned via e-mail and
also stored on a diskette and delivered via snail mail. The image can be
printed in near photo finish quality with and 1400+ dpi Ink Jet printer. I will
provide printed 5/7 inch copies as requested @ $5.00 a copy.
